Vortex Recognized in Three 2025 Dream Design Awards

Vortex is delighted to announce that it has been identified in three 2025 Dream Design Awards from Aquatics International magazine.
Crystal Beach Aquatic Park (Madison, Indiana)
Aquatic Designer: Counsilman Hunsaker
Water feature contractor: Spear – A Landmark Aquatic Company
An historic pool in this riverside town was transformed to accommodate multiple, distinct activities. The beach entry was shortened and kept at the shallow end, and an Elevations™ multi-level play structure and Splashpad® water features were introduced. Bright colors keep the spotlight on the new amenities.
Generations Park (Blair, Nebraska)
Aquatic Designer: JEO Consulting Group
Water feature contractor: Commercial Recreation Specialists
A new spraypad was introduced to this sprawling park, which now includes a trail system, pickleball courts, bocce ball, and an amphitheater. Acting as a central focus and point of entry, the Splashpad® plays an important role. Inspired by a creek theme, the faux rockwork sprays and interactive features include waterfalls, a cascading water table, and spraying stones.
Southeast Community Center (Kansas City, Missouri)
Aquatic Designer: Waters Edge Aquatic Design
Water feature contractor: Custom Engineering
Vortex channel partner: Power Play
The community center’s pool had aged prematurely, so the city took the opportunity to not only replace the pool but re-invent the water space. Working within the existing footprint, the team designed a pool with two zones connected by a thin channel. The shallow-water beach-entry area features an over-sized crab and frog that animate the play area alongside several fountains and jets.
All projects are featured in the July/August issue of Aquatics International magazine.
Vortex has been recognized for several Dream Designs over the past several years: Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training (2023), Linwood Park Spray Ground (2022), The St. James (2021), Blue Ash Wading Pool (2020), Perfect Day at CocoCay (2019), Long Branch Lagoon (2017) and Splashaway Bay (Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas) in 2017.
