Splish Splash is a popular water park owned by Herschend Family Entertainment. At 96 acres, it is also the largest water park in the Tri-State area. Over 30 uniquely themed water attractions are on offer, from high-speed slides to relaxing pools. The Herschend Family Entertainment team sought to make some updates for the 2025 season, replacing an old play feature with something bold and engaging. The primary objective was to increase the capacity of their children’s demographic and target their season passholders’ base with a marketable attraction for kids.
Working with Vortex, the park introduced a custom-designed and custom-colored Elevations™ multi-level water play structure. The bright, bold family play zone was then re-branded as Stingray Bay.
Designed with families in mind, the new water playground offers kid-friendly slides for endless fun, whimsical sprayers to keep things silly, and a dump bucket for the ultimate splash zone. The space is presented as a “soft” adventure, to appeal to younger kids ages 4 to 8 years old. There are multiple areas to play, climb, slide, and interact with water and play structures, as well as other children. And of course, it’s the perfect space for parents to get in on the action, get wet, and play with their little ones!
Stingray Bay has been a wonderful addition to Splish Splash. It’s offered a value-add for season passholders and has created a better balance across the water park’s attraction portfolio.
