The goal of this project was to enhance the guest experience and comfort during the warm summer months by adding a refreshing misting zone in one of the amusement park’s busiest areas. La Ronde was seeking a solution that would provide relief from the heat while complementing the amusement park’s visual environment.
The La Ronde team selected a CoolHub™ Abrio 6 structure, an inclusive space that combines seating, shading, and soothing aquatic elements. Four architectural canopies, in turquoise, create a shaded haven on sunny days. Two water effects were chosen: one is a relaxing cloud mist that cools the Abrio space and refreshes passersby. The other is a calming soft rain. Each offers guests a distinct and engaging cooling experience.
An arrangement of four benches extends from one of the white Abrio poles, shaping a welcoming space where visitors can pause; each is comprised of durable woodgrain polymer. And a river maze is constructed between two central poles. This feature offers soothing water sounds as the “river” flows between the three moving stones.
Solar-powered LEDs emit a soft glow at night, transforming Abrio into a refreshing gathering spot after dark.
All Abrio features work with on-demand activation and real-time flow control to ensure efficient energy and water usage.
Since its introduction in May 2024, the Abrio misting zone has quickly become a popular stop for visitors looking to cool off between rides.
This project marked the first CoolHub™ Abrio installation for Vortex, making it an important milestone for both Vortex and Six Flags-La Ronde.
