Refurbishment of Mentor’s popular Civic Center Pool is underway & features Vortex amenities
PROJECT TYPE: REFURBISHMENT – SPLASHPAD®, PLAYNUK™, WATERSLIDES
ANTICIPATED OPENING: SUMMER 2027
The City of Mentor, Ohio, has embarked on a multi-year plan to replace outdated facilities, consolidate municipal operations, improve safety and efficiency, and provide modern, accessible amenities for residents and visitors. It’s both a practical upgrade and a long-term investment in Mentor’s public spaces and community life.
The Civic Center Pool, in Mentor’s most popular park, is among the facilities to receive much-needed attention. A refurbishment project includes renovations to pool buildings and deck, new waterslides, and a refurbished Splashpad®.
Construction is well underway with an anticipated completion in summer 2027. The focal point is a 33-foot-high waterslide structure, consisting of three separate chutes.
The accessible Splashpad® has been designed to attract children of all ages and abilities. Gentle water features like Alto No3, Fish No1, and Cascade River encourage children of all ages to interact. A low-level PlayNuk™ structure introduces young kids to the adventure of waterslides. And exciting new VECTORY™ features – including Epik No1, Link No1, side-by-side Hyperlinks, and Apex – transform the Splashpad® into a dynamic, gamified play zone with interactive features that twist, push, and pull. This innovative collection blends strategy, teamwork, and high-energy fun for all ages – from toddlers to tweens – and even parents and grandparents!
The highly anticipated park refurbishment will bring smiles and squeals to Mentor citizens for years to come.
