West Bloomfield wanted to add another family park with aquatic play. So they worked with Vortex to create what is now the largest Splashpad® in Michigan! The focal point of the 5,500 sq.ft. aquatic play space is a giant Elevations™ multi-level play structure, in a palette of vibrant, custom colors. Over 50 play features, four waterslides, and a 55 gallon splash bucket create fun for children of all ages and abilities. The Splash pad is ADA and universally accessible.

Since its opening, the pay-for-play park has been extremely busy, drawing in local families as well as visitors from surrounding communities. Sensory-friendly sessions are offered once a week, and there is also an opportunity to book the space for private rentals and day camps.

The City used National Purchasing Partners (NPPGov) for this project, for which Vortex is an approved vendor. The co-operative purchasing program enabled the City to bypass a lengthy bidding process, thus saving time and money to get the best possible value for its new Splash pad.

« Lily Pad Springs has been embraced by our community and has become a favorite gathering spot for local families. The play elements were designed to encourage users to imagine, explore and interact with others and we feel they do just that. West Bloomfield Parks is proud to be able to offer this amenity to our residents to enjoy for many years to come. »
