Beating the summer heat got a little bit easier and a lot more fun at the Lau Folies Aquatic Center in the community of Lau Balagnas, France. A state-of-the-art Splashpad® was created with the park’s smallest users in mind.
Major renovations to the facility were undertaken to completely overhaul the water management system as well as the aesthetic of the park to make it more attractive to visitors and locals alike. Partnering with engineering firm, CETES to implement the rebuild, city officials focused on fun for all ages when designing the new park.
The innovative Splashpad® and Poolplay™ structures have captured the hearts and imaginations of children at Lau Folies where a giant scorpion rains water from above, colorful flowers project mesmerizing water effects and frog, snail and fish features engage even the smallest children looking to participate in the fun.
Not only are these new features entertaining, they have provided a great return on investment for Lau Folies. Shortly after opening the park reported a 15-20% increase in visits and return visits from people looking to take advantage of the new facilities. The redesign has also allowed the Aquatic Center to save money on human resources as they require fewer lifeguards for the pool now that its most vulnerable users have a safer space to play, as well as on maintenance costs as all Vortex products are constructed using high-grade stainless steel to prevent rusting and breaking.
